DepEd personnel to receive P3,000 anniversary bonus

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that eligible teaching and non-teaching personnel will receive P3,000 anniversary bonus as part of the weeklong celebration of its 125th founding anniversary since June 23, 1989.

DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2023 with the title “Policy on the Grant of Anniversary Bonus in the Department of Education,” says that eligible DepEd personnel shall receive an anniversary bonus not exceeding P3,000, for as long as they have rendered at least one year of service in the agency as of the date of the milestone year.

Additionally, the issuance aims to provide a multi-year policy guideline on the grant of anniversary bonuses (AB) to all DepEd officials and employees for every milestone year starting FY 2023, and the milestone years thereafter.

Milestone years are defined as the government agency’s 15th anniversary and every fifth year after that.

Qualified personnel for the bonus include DepEd officials and employees employed on a full-time or part-time basis, permanent, coterminous, provisional, temporary, casual, or contractual, whose employment is in the nature of regular employee.

However, DepEd said those who are absent without leave (AWOL) or no longer in the service as of June 23, or were found guilty of any offense in connection with their work during the 5-year interval between the milestone years, as well as Consultants, Contract of Service, Job Orders similarly situated, are not covered by the anniversary bonus.

DepEd said the anniversary bonus will be granted not earlier than June 23 of the milestone year.
