On Friday, September 2, The Department of Education (DepEd) issued a clarification in a public advisory, that the revised guidelines on suspension of classes and work during natural calamities and disasters are not yet in effect.

It said that to avoid confusion in its field operations, the copy of the issuance from its official website has been taken down.
DepEd said the DepEd Order has not been filed in the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR) of the UP Law Center which requires a wet signature and that the said issuance was released as an advance copy on the DepEd website with an electronic signature.
It added that the revised guidelines on class and work suspension during disasters and calamities will be published again once the filing requirement in the ONAR can be fulfilled concurrently with the website posting.
