Review of K-12 program due by July 2023- VP Duterte

Vice President and the Department of Education (DepEd) Chief Sara Duterte said on Tuesday, July 26, that the review of Kinder to Grade 12 (K-12) program will be until July 2023.

We were given by President Marcos one year, this School Year 2022-2023, to give a final answer about our K-12 program here in the country,

Duterte said after the State of the Nation Address (SONA) economic briefing.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on his SONA last Monday reiterated that the implementation of the K-12 program is undergoing a careful review to check its continuation and viability and all necessary inputs and points are currently being considered.

At present, the DepEd is looking into the curriculum of Grades 11 to 12, while the agency under former Secretary Leonor Briones already finished the review for the lower grades.

Earlier, Marcos ordered a review of the education curriculum in the country to address job mismatches.
