During the Laging Handa public briefing on Tuesday, Feb.2, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said it will coordinate with the Department of Education (DepEd) regarding the resumption of pilot face-to-face classes in Metro Manila.

He further added that they will schedule dialogues with Education Secretary Leonor Briones in order to determine if the pilot face-to-face classes will continue. Currently, Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2.
Under Alert Level 2, establishments may conduct indoor activities with a maximum capacity of 50% for fully-vaccinated individuals and those below 18 years of age, regardless of vaccination status. Meanwhile, for outdoor activities, a maximum capacity of 70% is advised.
Previously, the DepEd reported that the pilot run of the face-to-face classes was "highly successful" last year which ran from November 15 to December 22. According to the report, there were high attendance among learners and there were zero COVID-19 cases detected from all the schools that participated.
