On Friday, Feb. 11, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that about 6,000 schools from across the country are ready to participate in the expanded phase of face-to-face classes.
If we talk about the schools in the entire country that are ready once they are under alert level 2, the report of our regional directors is we have more than 6,000 schools that are ready to join the expanded phase, and this will be increasing, as long as they comply with the school safety assessment,
DepEd Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said during a briefing.

The face-to-face classes are currently in its progressive expansion in areas that are under alert level 2.
Malaluan said that due to the successful implementation of the pilot face-to-face classes, confidence in the program has increased and that more schools now are ready to join.
Recently, the agency has also authorized public and private schools to include other grade levels in the progressive expansion phase of face-to-face classes, allowing them to have participation on the program.
