The Department of Education (DepEd) said on Thursday, Nov. 2, that starting on December 6, 177 schools along with 28 public schools in Metro Manila will join the pilot run of face-to-face classes.
In the National Capital Region, there will be two schools each coming from Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan City, Mandaluyong City, Marikina City, Muntinlupa City, Navotas City, Parañaque City, Pasig City, Taguig City, Valenzuela City, and Las Piñas City, while one school from the cities of San Juan, Pasay, Malabon, and Makati will join.

Recently, 100 public schools and 18 private schools coming from several areas nationwide started the pilot study of face-to-face classes on November 15.
These schools are in areas deemed safe from COVID-19 by both the DepEd and the Department of Health (DOH) and are currently under strict health protocols.
DepEd said that the assessment period of the initial run of pilot face-to-face classes will be until December 22, 2021 and the pilot study was set to end on January 31, 2022.
It added that the results of the pilot testing will be then presented to President Rodrigo Duterte on February 2022 and an expansion will start on March 7, 2022 if all goes well.
