In Facebook post on Saturday, Oct. 30, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that the School Year (SY) 2021-2022 Christmas break for basic education, mainly public schools will start on Dec. 20 and will last until Jan. 2, 2022.

The holiday break is in accordance with DepEd Order No. 29 series of 2021 or the School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2021-2022.
Moreover, as per Presidential Proclamation No. 1107, s. 2021, the DepEd reminded parents and guardians of students from kindergarten, elementary, junior high school and senior high school that Nov. 2, Dec. 24, and Dec. 31 are “Special (Working) Days.”
Based on DO No. 29 s. of 2021, the current school year consists of 209 school days inclusive of Saturdays and the five-day midyear break.
Still until distance learning system due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, SY 2021-2022 has opened on Sept. 13, 2021 and will end on June 24, 2022.
