Based on the latest quick count from DepEd, a total of 5,356,643 students have enrolled as of Thursday, 2am where 734,306 students enrolled in public schools while 63,102 learners enrolled in private institutions.

A total of 4,557,327 registered early as of June 2.

On the other hand, students enrolled in state universities and colleges or local universities and colleges are at 1,908.

The region with the highest enrollees is CALABARZON at 710,526, followed by Central Luzon at 450,202; Western Visayas at 436,301; and Metro Manila at 428,943.

Meanwhile, DepEd Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan pointed out that the said enrollment data is still subject to some changes as there is considerable delay in its reporting.
I also caution against making some conclusions at this stage; it is still too early. There is a considerable lag in reporting; for example, some schools collate first the enrollment forms, particularly those through drop-box, before reporting,
Malaluan said.

He added that if in case there will be “duplicates” of data, they will be corrected automatically once the Beginning of the School Year (BOSY) module of the student profile starts on Sept. 13. Moreover, the unique Learner Reference Number (LRN) of students will also resolve these duplicates.

Classes for the school year 2021-2022 will commence on September 13 under blended-learning system due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
