DepEd to issue memo on how education frontliners efficiently support government’s vaccination program
The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that it will issue a memorandum that will give guidelines on how education frontliners can effectively engage and aid the drive to address Filipinos who are still hesitating about the COVID-19 vaccination in the country.
Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones will soon issue a memorandum that will provide details as to how our personnel can effectively engage for the implementation of the vaccination program,
DepEd Task Force COVID-19 (DTFC) Chairperson and Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said during a town hall meeting on government’s inoculation program for school health personnel held on May 18.

He also disclosed the DepEd’s plan to further heighten the country’s vaccination campaign.
The first town hall meeting was conducted by the DepEd in cooperation with the Department of Health (DOH) to prepare for the vaccine roll-out for the A4 priority group.
Among the matters discussed during the meeting were the national vaccination deployment plan, vaccine development, selection, and approval process tackled by medical experts. Public concerns on vaccine acceptance and how school health personnel and teachers can participate in communicating key messages of the immunization program were also addressed.
The participants were urged by DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III to join the vaccine cluster and assist in spreading the right information about the government’s vaccination program.

More virtual workshops and meetings will be also be conducted said Director Lope B. Santos III of the Bureau of Learner Support Services (BLSS) to reach out to more DepEd employees.
The DepEd also announced that there will be various national and local webinars that will be conducted which aims to inform and engage the stakeholders in the promotion of vaccination and other related policies to lessen the gravity of COVID-19.
