He explained that the health and safety of students, teachers and non-teaching personnel remains a priority and should be put into careful consideration before decisions to resume in-person classes should be made.

Go said that the opening of face-to-face classes is still unsure because it has to be approved first by IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) before any plans pursue.
Let us not rush it. Let us give our teachers a little space because it is hard at this time if one teacher or a student gets positive for Covid-19, we will be having difficulties in contact-tracing because we are now focused on the vaccination against the disease,
Go added.

As of the moment, the Department of Education (DepEd) plans to start School Year 2021-2022 on August 3 that will shorten the break of students to six weeks.

Despite Go emphasizing on the significance of ensuring the health and safety of students, teachers and non-teaching personnel; he however agrees that the education of the students should not be delayed any further.

He urged DepEd and other concerned authorities to do all their best and effort to further improve the blended learning system in order to ease the burden of students and teachers alike.
