In order to assist teachers in overseeing blended learning in the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) will be distributing connectivity load lasting for three months and some gadgets starting next month.
With or without the pandemic, the Department has actively advocated for policies and programs that will further support our teachers. Through this connectivity allowance, we hope to continuously assist our teachers in their duties to deliver quality education to our learners amidst the situation,

In a press conference, Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said the Department has started procuring process for the connectivity load with 30 to 35 GB data allocation per month to public school teachers.
We will begin to roll out siguro next month. We will be asking our teachers to register in DepEd Commons para mabigyan sila ng load sa kani-kanilang cellphone,
he said.
He added that the 35 GB per month is sufficient enough for teacher’s online teaching activities as the 1GB bandwidth a day could last for 8 hours of online webinars, downloading and watching of videos. Any unused data will be rolled over to the next months up to a year until the user fully consumes 100GB.
At the same time, the DepEd is currently procuring thousands of laptop from DBM-PS (Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service) for teachers as well as walkie-talkies that can be used in areas without cellphone signals.
The agency has also started acquiring satellite connectivity for schools far-flung places through its partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology and Converge ICT Solutions Inc.
So, in a matter of few months, ang ating mga Last Mile schools, mga dalawang libo po sila, magkakaroon sila ng satellite connectivity. They can now be connected,
