On Monday, during the hearing of the Senate basic education committee, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has expressed his concern over a reported scheme he called “sagot for sale” where parents hire another person to answer their children’s self-learning modules.
He then called on the Department of Education (DepEd) to immediately investigate such reports.

During the last senate hearing, Gatchalian cited a report by the Teachers' Dignity Coalition which showed how parents who struggle with their children’s modules hire someone else whom they usually find online to answer them.

the senator said in a statement on Monday.
Gatchalian emphasized, warning the parents, that their children will only suffer the consequences in engaging with such schemes because their learning and development will be compromised if they let others answer their children’s modules.
In the Laging Handa briefing, DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said that the agency is now coordinating with its regional offices to probe into the issue and they are prepared to file administrative cases.
