In order to ensure that all incoming students are registered, the Department of Education (DepEd) announces that the registration in public schools for the next school year will be from March 26 to April 30.
All incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations and incoming plans for the coming school year,
said Education Secretary Leonor Briones in a statement on Monday.
The mentioned schedule is mandatory for public schools, and optional for private schools. She also added that Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12 are considered pre-registered and will not be required to participate in the early registration.

The early registration was announced to aid DepEd gauge the number of enrollees for School Year (SY) 2021-2022.
A strict implementation of the Kindergarten cut-off age is also mandated by DepEd to private schools.
Furthermore, DepEd said that a stringent health and safety protocols must be implemented during the period of the early registration.
In the context of the prevailing COVID-19 public health emergency, the conduct of early registration shall be done remotely in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). In-person registration through parents or guardians may be allowed in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) provided physical distancing and health and safety protocols are strictly observed,
