On Wednesday, March 17, officials had confirmed that the Department Education (DepEd) office in Zambales had at least nine of its employees tested positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 after attending a meeting last week.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial director of Zambales confirmed that among the virus-infected DepEd employees were school division officials and a principal.
OTHER STORIES:
There were 300 DepEd employees from the province that attended a management committee meeting in the town of Iba last March 12. The infections surfaced when the employees were tested for the virus after the meeting.
One of those present at the meeting was the source of the infections, Bueno said.
The province of Zambales has currently 990 confirmed cases, 38 active, 928 recoveries and 23 were reported to be fatalities.
