Additional thirteen employees of the Depart of Education (DepEd) in Zambales have tested positive for the coronavirus disease after attending a training seminar that caused a recent outbreak.
In earlier reports, nine employees have tested positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

On Friday, Dr. Noel Bueno, Provincial Health Director, confirmed that the total number of employees in DepEd Zambales contracting the virus has risen to 28. The new patients were principals and teachers coming from different schools in the province and all have attended the seminar hosted in a beach resort in the town of Iba from March 1-12.
The infections surfaced when the employees were tested for the virus after the meeting and was contracted from a teacher who served as the guest speaker in the seminars.
Bueno added that the people who were exposed to the patients were waiting for their results after taking reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests.
On Friday, the Zambales capitol had instructed municipal officials to restore strict border controls and other health protocols at the checkpoints to prevent the spread of the disease.
