On Sunday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) listed three new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad, bringing the total to 11,674.
The DFA reported 1 new recovery and no new fatality among those infected.
The number of those currently being treated abroad for the disease is 3,263, as 7,565 of those infected have recovered, while 846 have died.
Those undergoing treatment are as follows by region:
561 in the Asia Pacific
308 in Europe
2,334 in the Middle East and Africa, and
60 in the Americas.
The DFA said it “remains fully committed to monitoring the situation of overseas Filipinos who are affected by the pandemic and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare.”
Meanwhile, on the government’s continuing repatriation program, the DFA said it has assisted a total of 9,981 overseas Filipinos from December 1 to 5, 2020, the highest five-day total since July 2020.
This brings the total number of overseas Filipinos that were repatriated in the middle of the pandemic to 287,301.
