On Monday, the Department of Education (DepEd) said that it will replace the printed self-learning modules damaged by calamities that recently hit the country.
Education Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla said that the department was gathering reports on the damaged learning materials and has identified funding sources for the replacement of these materials.
We are ready to download [or] supplement the financial resources of DepEd Regions and Schools Division Offices affected by recent calamities,
Sevilla told reporters in a Viber message.
We are also considering digital copies but only for areas/regions/divisions/schools certified by the Regional Directors to be needing such and in compliance with the contextualized Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan of the schools,
she added
Furthermore, DepEd will also provide funds to cover clean-up drives in schools, psychosocial aid programs, and provision of hygiene kits affected by Typhoon Quinta, Rolly, and Ulysses.
Due to the damaged caused by the typhoons, DepEd has suspended distance-learning activities in several areas.
