Earlier, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the creation of a mega task force which is tasked to investigate irregularities/corruption in the government. The mega task force led by the Department of Justice (DOJ) wants the Department of Education (DepEd) to teach students integrity and honesty.
We’ll request the DepEd to include and emphasize values of integrity and honesty among young learners in their GMRC (Good Manners and Right Conduct) and Araling Panlipunan (social studies) subjects,
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.
Prior to that, Guevarra said that the task force will not only investigate and chase those involved in corrupt activities but also educate the public against corruption.
Not only to instill these values among government workers but also to sow them in young minds,
the Justice Secretary said about the information and education campaign the task force will embark on.
With God’s grace, there is hope that these good seeds may fall and germinate in good soil,
he added.
Furthermore, Guevarra said that it also intends to seek the help of media companies to produce and broadcast materials showing the harmful effects of corruption on the public good.
Lastly, we shall invite NGOs (non-government organizations), as well as our spiritual leaders, to join us in our crusade to destroy this culture of tolerance and indifference to the evils of corruption,
he added.
