Velcher Castillo, a Grade 8 Music, Arts, PE and Health teacher in Santiago City, Isabela, became emotional when his student just labeled the names of colors the supposed colored parts of his drawing, because he did not have and cannot afford to buy a crayon. Castillo appreciated the action of his students and immediately bought crayons as a gift.

In one of the drawing task given to his students, the child has no crayons available to use that is why the child wrote the corresponding colors on every part of his drawing.
Don't be sorry, nak. I understand you. Here's a box of crayons for you... Para sa bawat estudyante, isang mahigpit na yakap,
said Castillo.

[Don't be sorry, son. I understand you. Here's a box of crayons for you ... For each student, a tight hug.]

The post has more than 72,000 reactions and more than 32,000 shares.

Castillo added that he himself burst into tears when he read what the student said in his assignment, which urged him to immediately buy crayons for his student.
Kitang-kita po yung kagustuhan ng batang lagyan ng kulay yung gawa niya ngunit dahil wala nga po siyang pambili sinulat niya nalang po yung mga kulay roon sa design niya para ma-visualize ko pa rin,
said Castillo.

[It's really obvious that the child desires to color his work, but since he doesn't have the means to buy [crayons], he just wrote the colors in his drawing so that I can still visualize.]

Castillo added that the task only requires a drawing output, but the child's letter brought the teacher to tears. He can sense the child's effort and he appreciates it.
Kahit man lang sa pamamagitan ng krayolang iyon, maramdaman niyang kasama niya pa rin ako sa kanyang pagkatuto. Lagi't lagi po para sa bata,
said Castillo in an interview.

I hope that through the crayons, he could feel that I am always there for him [to help] in his learning.

Castillo was able to talk to his student. The child said he saw his teacher's post and became emotional too while thanking his teacher. The child also don't have internet access in their home.

Castillo added that the distance learning is difficult for many teachers and students, especially when there are no teachers right next to the learners to teach and guide them. He also said that through making of comprehensive and a creative modules, he hope that students will be able to feel that they are with them, wherever they are.
