The Department of Education (DepEd) just recently bought new vehicles which will be used by the department's field engineers for the conduct of their regular field inspection. It is the new official vehicle, the Mitsubishi Strada pickup truck.

The department received 166 brand new units of Mitsubishi Strada 4×4 GLS MT trucks, dressed in DepEd’s familiar colors and markings. It was delivered by Mitsubishi Motors Carworld Pampanga. These units are equipped with 2.4-liter DOHC turbodiesel engines capable of 178hp and 430Nm of torque. According to TopGear Philippines each units carries a price tag of P1, 465,000, provided they were bought at SRP.
In a statement released by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), it said the delivery is on top of the 88 trucks that were delivered last December 5, 2019. This brings the total number of purchased vehicles to 254 units.

DepEd Undersecretary, Alain Del B. Pascua said during the turnover ceremony.
According to the MMPC press release, aside from being the official vehicle for DepEd field engineers, the Mitsubishi Strada units will also serve as rescue trucks by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Council (NDRRC) in times of emergencies or calamities.
President Paul Laus of LausGroup of Companies said they more than happy to assist the DepEd on its mission, saying the agency will be happy with its new official vehicle.
