DepEd's radio and TV platform is still calling for teacher applicants

Teachers may still join the batch 3 of DepEd's teachers - broadcasters. The Department of Education (DepEd) is still calling for more teacher applicants for its radio and television platform.

Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua shared the agency's memorandum on Friday announcing another batch of recruitment of public school teachers for its distance learning program, even though classes were initially scheduled to open on August 24.

Here are the qualifications:

• confident, physically and mentally fit
• outgoing, creative and socially savvy
• computer and smartphone literate
• must have camera phone and strong internet connection
• preferably with experience in video or social media content creation, public speaking, speech and drama or performance
• experience in social media content creation
• can commit in attending webinars and training
• must be able to have technical support team who will be helping in recording and editing of audio and video episodes

Interested teachers must register at bit.ly/depedtbaf3 to upload their resume, brief profile, and submit a five-minute demo video demonstrating their mastery on the applied subject or grade level on or before August 28, Friday, 12NN.

Teachers are not required to get a clearance from their respective Regional and Schools Division Offices to apply.

Reminders prior to recording the audition videos, the teacher must be in proper uniform and must discuss in 5 minutes the first portion of the first lesson of the grade level and subject that the teacher is applying as defined by Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs). It must be set in a landscape form, recorded in 720p format and in classroom set-up.

The government recently decided to move the opening of classes for public schools to October 5 amid calls to delay them due to limited resources and preparation. On the other hand, private schools were given the go signal to start ahead.
