Local publishing house Lampara Books has recently published the new children’s book, it seeks to educate young Filipino boys on the proper care of their private body parts.
Written by Genaro R. Gojo Cruz with illustrations by Beth Parrocha, the book also aims to encourage more open discussion on sensitive topics such as the penis.
[Things kids don't know they can't value and keep. Like eyes that shouldn't be stabbed, and hands that should always be washed, we have other parts of the body to identify and pay attention to.] Lampara books wrote.
[We are used to being ashamed of the matter of this part of our body, but how will the boys know how to take care of their penis if we don't teach them.] it added.
The tale from Lampara Books recently went viral on Facebook, as the publishing outfit announced its release, with comments ranging from amusement to earnest praise for the story’s value. Netizens were quick to throw their support and praises for the book, which is already available online, saying that conversations about the male genitals should not become taboo anymore.
With “Ako ay May Titi,” the author also encourages more open conversations between parents and their children to include topics seen as sensitive, including the penis and its function.
