The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said there were 20 confirmed new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) recorded among Filipinos abroad, raising the total to 9,165.

DFA reported, of the total cases, 3,149 are active and still undergoing treatment, 5,369 have recovered and a total of 647 have succumbed to the disease. These cases are from 69 countries and regions.
Data from the DFA showed that there are a total of 782 COVID-19 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region. Of this, 163 patients are undergoing treatment, 613 have recovered, and six have succumbed to the illness.
Meanwhile, the Middle East or Africa has reported a total of 6,605 cases with 2,380 patients undergoing treatment, There are a total of 3,850 recoveries and 375 fatalities in the region.
In Europe, there are a total of 1,077 COVID-19 cases. Of this, there are 486 patients undergoing treatment, 496 recoveries, and 95 fatalities.
There are a total of 701 COVID-19 cases in the Americas with 120 patients still undergoing treatment. The region has reported a total of 410 recoveries and 171 fatalities.
In the Philippines, 70,764 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded as of Tuesday, of which 45,646 are active.
