The 3 nurses where asked for a clearance from their barangay. However, even if they have the clearance and was cleared that they were Covid 19 free, the admin still wouldn't let them out.
"Hindi makatao ang ginawa nila sa amin, tinrato kaming parang kriminal," (What they did to us was inhumane, they treated us like criminals.) said one of the nurse.
According to the nurses, they were exposed to Covid 19 but they were already beyond the quarantine period. Also, they tested negative on their swab test but they were still locked in their unit for 7 days.
"Pinakita ko 'yung certificate, pero ayaw nila makinig sa amin at wala silang mapakitang policy," (I showed them the certificate, but they wouldn't listen and can't show any policy.) according to one of the nurses.
According to the barangay chairman, they already talked to the condominium admin but even the property management officer won't listen.
NBI said, what was done by the condo admin is against the rights of the nurses.
"Meron din kasing threat from the condo na pag umalis sila sa condo eh hindi na sila makakabalik... Iyung mga frontliners na nakaranas ng discrimination, may mga karapatan kayo na dapat ini-insist, at dapat naga-guide ang LGU," (There is a threat from the condo admin that if they leave they won't be able to come back, Frontliners who experience discrimination have rights that they could insist, and LGU must be there for guidance.) explained by Kristine dela Cruz, executive officer of NBI Special Action Unit.
The officials of the condominium that were present when the NBI arrived refused to comment on the matter. The property management officer was put to jail and the security officer flee. All the officers including the legal officer of the condo faced charges against the discrimination of the frontliners.
