It's around 12 am on Wednesday when she gave birth to a healthy baby girl inside her own quarters while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She is one of the thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) that can't go home because of the world wide travel ban caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an interview, she narrated that she got pregnant when she went home from the Philippines. She asked for an emergency leave last October when her mother died. She was already in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia when she knew she was pregnant. She told her employer immediately and wait for Ramadan to end before going home. But because of the sudden lockdown she can't go home even if her employer issued her an exit visa already, there where no available flights to Philippines that time, except for special and chartered flights.

She already asked helped from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jedda and applied for repatriation flight, she's still waiting for a schedule when she gave birth.

"We will bring her to our accommodation. She will stay there while processing the repatriation. We will help the worker and we will try everything to send them home and her baby as fast as we can, and then of course we will coordinate with the embassy to help with their documents.," said the OFW's recruitment agency.
